FUTURE OF VICTORIA HOSPITAL – FURTHER PROGRESS

ALAN MAK MEETS THE SURGERY AND RELEVANT NHS BODIES

Progress has been made on developing the scheme although terms have not yet been agreed between the Practice and the NHS. We are particularly pleased that all parties have accepted the principle which the Forum has lobbied on – namely that the new building should be ‘future proofed’ to deal with Emsworth’s projected population growth.
You can find out more here. >>>>>>

SEE THE FORUM SURVEY ON EMSWORTH VICTORIA HOSPITAL.

The Emsworth Forum recently conducted a survey of local residents asking
them what should happen to the Hospital site. To read the report and the
representations we have made to the local Clinical Commissioning Group on

HELP SHAPE OUR PLANS BY VOLUNTEERING

By becoming a member of the Emsworth Forum you have shown that you care about Emsworth and its future. The Forum is run by volunteers and we need help and expertise to do the work of developing the Emsworth Neighbourhood Plan which will help determine how Emsworth develops in the future. If you have the time to help us with this important task for the town your help will make a real difference.

Jobs that we need help with include:

  • Events – organizing and representing the Forum at local events
  • Leafleting – door to door
  • Posters – putting up and taking down of posters around Emsworth
  • IT – using software packages such as Survey Monkey & Mailchimp
  • Social media– posting messages on Twitter, Facebook. Training can be provided
  • Surveys – interviewing people at events and door to door
  • Data Entry – for inputting survey responses etc
  • Fundraising – organizing applying for grants, sponsorships, raffles, merchandising

In addition we would be very keen to hear if you have any specific skills such as:

  • Accountancy
  • Planning
  • Transport

If you can help with any of these tasks please get in touch with our Volunteer Co-ordinator Sue Fricker on 02392 430216 or email her on friskerspost@hotmail.com.

All offers of help no matter how small would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

EMSWORTH NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN – WHAT’S NEXT?

OUR ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING GAVE US THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE PLANS

On Tuesday evening 21st July we held our annual general meeting and invited all to attend. We certainly touched on the issues we have raised in the past few weeks and held an exercise to develop a vision for the town based on the survey and public meeting findings. We will be making these public shortly.

A SIMPLE THANK YOU

Thank you to everyone who has participated in these meetings. It has been really interesting to hear everyone’s views and inspiring to hear about all the creative ideas that people have for making the town an even better place to live, work and visit.

The Emsworth Forum management committee is now going through a process of consolidating all your views and ideas and determining, with expert advice, which ones could be part of the Neighbourhood Plan and which are projects that could be taken forward outside of the planning process.

We will be discussing the outputs of the survey and meetings with all the relevant local community and statutory organisations and stakeholders (such as the Emsworth Residents, Business and Community Associations and Havant Council and Hampshire County Council. ) A complete report of all these issues and ideas will be posted on this website.

We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded another small central government grant for further funding of the work of the Forum. The Forum is run by volunteers but there are certain services that we have to pay for. These grants are mostly to cover the costs of publicity and administration. We have also applied for support to access an expert planning adviser who will be able to assist us in developing our plan and hope to hear about that soon.

WHAT OUR SURVEY TOLD US

In order to understand the desires and needs we have for Emsworth we recently conducted a simple 20-question survey. With over 220 completed replies finally analysed we can now report on the interesting diversity of the replies. Plenty of comments and opinions have been expressed so please read on…..
