COUNTRYSIDE AND COASTLINE – HOW LUCKY ARE WE?
As far as environmental issues are concerned it is fair to say that flooding grabbed the headlines in a big way last year.That is why we have a complete section devoted to what we can do to alleviate its menace.
However the topic of the environment is a far wider discussion and although flooding is part of the debate it is not the only part. Emsworth has various areas of special scientific interest and is also home to ancient woodlands, unique wildlife habitats and a number of footpaths and bridleways.
We have a unique position on the edge of an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) which is dominated by our coastline but we have also some of the most treasured countryside as we are positioned close to the southern side of the SouthDowns. It is this position that makes Emsworth so uniquely valuable to lovers of the environment and issues that will affect this are taken extremely seriously.
